Video can be a wonderful way to support learners after a training event.
Here are several videos commisioned by a client working with independent retailers in South London During the 12 week programme, each 90-minute session was recorded and published to the web within 3-days. The learners found it a valuable way to review the session or catch up on missed sessions. Each week, the captured video was edited into five small chunks, uploaded to google video and posted on their blog hosted on the free blogging platform Blogger . Many trainers ask their learners to express Key Learning points creatively. This example was used during a management training workshop. The learners were asked to demonstrate the qualities of a 'Champion Team' in the form of a Statue. It could be a traditional piece - in the style of 'David' or it could be a piece of modern art involving movement and sound. Here is what the learners demonstrated.
Blingle took the raw video footage, edited the short segmant adding sound, transitions etc and posted the finished piece to YouTube . The trainer then embedded the video on their own website. You can see this in context here and an example of another video being used here to reinforce learning here. Video can be used to support learners after the event. During a 2-day programme for regional business leaders, a client recorded extracts from several session and ended the day by capturing the thughts and key learning points from each earner. These were edited down to a 10 minute reminder. To further reinforce this valuable review excercise and to encourage visits to the website hosting the video, we extracted the short introduction and reduced it's size to make it suitable for emailing! See the clips belowTeaser VideoOnce you have a video hosted on your website, you have to encourage your target audience to visit and view. A client recently produced the intro to their workshop summary video as a small movie to email to all the learners. The small teaser video encouraged the learners to visit the main site and watch the full video. Full videoHere is the full video hosted on their 'workshop photos' blog.
